Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care - Leveraging IMS MAXIMS

Written by: Nicola Cranfield, Clinical Solutions Lead / CSO (Registered Nurse)

As we celebrate National Nurses week 6th - 12th May and International Nurses Day 2024 on 12th May, it’s crucial to acknowledge not just the compassionate care nurses provide but also their significant impact on the economic health of our healthcare institutions. This year's theme for International Nurses Day, "Our Nurses. Our Future. The Economic Power of Care," invites us to explore how nurses, armed with advanced tools like MAXIMS, drive economic efficiency and enhance patient care quality.

Economic and efficient healthcare through EPR

Nursing is at the heart of patient care and health system efficiency. MAXIMS EPR is a pivotal tool that empowers our nurses by streamlining data management, reducing administrative burdens, and ensuring that critical patient information is accessible in real-time. This efficiency enhances patient outcomes and significantly cuts down on unnecessary costs.

Nurses driving change with the support of MAXIMS

Enhanced data accessibility: Using MAXIMS, nurses can instantly access comprehensive patient records. This immediate access speeds up decision-making processes and reduces treatment waiting times, directly impacting the economic efficiency of healthcare delivery.

Reduced administrative burdens: Nurses traditionally spend substantial time on paperwork. With IMS MAXIMS EPR, much of this documentation is automated. This shift allows nurses to spend more time on patient care than administrative tasks, enabling them to provide higher quality of patient care and maximising the value they add to the healthcare system.

Improved patient outcomes: Efficient data handling means better patient monitoring and faster response times. Nurses can update patient records in real-time, which is crucial during emergencies. This efficiency not only saves lives but also reduces hospital stays and readmissions, a direct benefit to healthcare facilities' economic health.

The future is now: Economic benefits today and tomorrow

The economic advantages of integrating MAXIMS into daily nursing practice are profound. As healthcare continues to evolve, the role of technology in facilitating care becomes more critical. By ensuring that nurses are equipped with the best tools to do their jobs, we at IMS MAXIMS enhance patient care and build a more sustainable and economically viable healthcare system.

Celebrating our nurses

This International Nurses Day, let’s take a moment to appreciate the hardworking nurses who utilise tools like MAXIMS to care for us and improve healthcare's economic dynamics. Their unwavering dedication and expertise remind us that at the intersection of technology and human touch, we find the true power of nursing.

Thank you, nurses, for everything you do. Today, we celebrate you, not just as caregivers but as key drivers in the economic engine of healthcare.

As someone committed to enhancing nursing practices through the use of MAXIMS, I want to thank my colleague Rick Benson, Clinical Solutions Manager / CSO (Registered Nurse), for his exemplary dedication and expertise. Ricks’ commitment to excellence enhances patient care and safety, which is truly inspiring and underscores the profound impact that dedicated professionals can have on our healthcare community.
